Chief Executive Officer: Lise Benedicto
As the CEO and Co-Founder, Ms. Benedicto brings over 25 years of commercial real estate and property management experience working with some of the most prestigious commercial real estate companies. She offers intuitive understanding of the competing pressures and priorities you face daily. Her role as CEO is to build long term value for Benedictus with clients, markets, and relationships. She identifies client needs along with our company’s capabilities, combines those forces together and creates opportunities for growth. Ms. Benedicto is responsible for developing and managing the implementation of strategic business plans and programs to accomplish related goals and strategies of clients, realizing growth and our company mission.
She started her career with Mack-Cali Realty as an Assistant Property Manager, managing office buildings in Westchester County, NY and was the first female Property Manager for Mack-Cali Realty. Her diversity in property management included management of retail, office, flex, and facilities. Ms. Benedicto was responsible for Washington Real Estate Investment Trust’s, retail portfolio consisting of 1.2 million square feet, including Frederick Crossing Shopping Center, Frederick County Square, and Centre at Hagerstown in the DC Metro area.
As a Senior Real Estate Manager, she subsequently oversaw a retail and office portfolio of 1 million square feet in the DC Metro area for CB Richard Ellis and was recognized as the Local Market Area Real Estate Manager of the Year. She later went on to manage over 1.5 million square feet of commercial office property in the DC region as a Senior Portfolio Manager for Cassidy Turley. Her professional affiliations include CREW, BOMA, IFMA, ULI and various networking groups.
Ms. Benedicto’s proficiency in building, managing, and leveraging relationships based on trust, respect, and mutual appreciation enable the fundamental flow of value for our clients. Business Development and Client Relations are integral parts of our company that work together closely with the other elements to deliver positive objectives.
As our CEO, Lise is responsible for identifying your goals and priorities, a hands-on CEO, who holds herself and her team accountable to you for the quality of service on each contract site. She monitors and advises on emerging trends and issues in industry and regional area market, reviews all quality control reports, and leads all quarterly performance reviews with you and your staff. NO other security staffing providers offer this level of commercial property management experience at the C-Suite level.
Executive Vice President: Wendell Shingler
In January of 2008, Wendell Shingler retired after serving more than 36 years in senior federal security, law enforcement and homeland security positions. When he retired, Mr. Shingler was serving as Executive Director of the National Incident Response Unit in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security’s largest criminal investigation agency. In this position, he led emergency management and preparedness initiatives for ICE internationally and the ICE command and control operations and tactical communications.
Prior to his tenure at ICE, Wendell served as the Director of Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service (FPS), which is responsible for the law enforcement, vulnerability/threat/risk assessments and physical security of approximately 9000 federal buildings and leased facilities throughout the nation. He led the initial DHS law enforcement response to the entire Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina.
Mr. Shingler went to FPS after serving half of his career in the U.S. Marshals Service. In the Marshals Service, he served in a variety of senior management positions, ending his tenure as the Deputy Assistant Director for Judicial Security. In this position, he was responsible for the physical security of the nation’s federal judges, judicial employees, court operations, prisoner cellblock/jail design, construction, and operation of the prisoner movement facilities.
Wendell received commendation from the Attorney General of the United States for his role setting vulnerability standards for the federal government and co-authoring the Department of Justice’s Vulnerability Assessment for Federal Facilities following the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. This assessment covered all federal owned and leased facilities. He served as Chair of the Interagency Security Committee.
Wendell serves as an Executive Vice President for Benedictus, he assists, advises, and maintains close communications with the CEO. Mr. Shingler provides guidance on training, risk assessment, and overall operational procedures. He also works closely with the COO to implement company and client policies.
He has served as a consultant since his retirement for a law firm and well-known, Class A building owner CRE firm; providing security and business continuity advise and all hazards training.
Mr. Shingler also consults with a number of Fortune 500 Companies, serves as an expert witness, blogs, and interviews, primarily on vulnerability assessments, risk/threat assessments, countermeasures, red teaming/auditing existing security measures, crisis management, law enforcement and security operations advise, security officer management, emergency preparedness, facility and critical infrastructure security and physical security. Further, he serves on a number of Boards of Advisors for leading security corporations and not for profits and memorial fund organizations.
Director of Training: Donald Jones
Mr. Jones has 10+ years in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff in Arlington County, VA. Recognized for his training work, he has successfully completed FTO certifications (Field Training Officer Instructor).
His experience includes learning and professional development working with adult learners. His background includes but not limited to training adult learners; trained adults in fields in varied law enforcement, big box retail, and security using a variety of presentation methods. He has instructed over 300 students supporting 5 contracts at 10 facilities in the DC area.
Donald provides leadership, counseling and goal setting to the staff. He ensures officer certifications are current, coordinating re-certifications as appropriate. He utilizes combined learning environments to deliver training to new hire and incumbent staff. His expertise and knowledge in developing, implementing, and evaluating new training courses for Benedictus are an asset to our Clients needs and specific contract requirements.
Mr. Jones holds a Masters in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s in criminal justice/Police Science from Liberty University.
